Dr. Lydia Baird

Dr. Lydia Baird is originally from the area of Montgomery County, Pennsylavia. She graduated cum laude from Grove City College in 2007 with a BS in Molecular Biology. During her time there, she was awarded the Trustee Academic Scholarship and played on the women's rugby team as a scrumhalf, greatly enjoying the camaraderie of a quality team.

Dr. Baird earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2011. During her years at Pitt Dental, Dr. Baird founded the Asian Pacific American Dental Student Association and was an active member of both the Student National Dental Association and the American Student Dental Association.

Following graduation, Dr. Baird completed a one year general practice residency at the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic through Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She remains committed to lifelong learning and is a member of multiple professional dental societies, including the Academy of General Dentistry, Christian Medical and Dental Association, American Academy of Oral and Systemic Health, and the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT).

From 2018-2019, Dr. Baird completed a mini residency at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Dental Sleep Medicine. She also has advanced training in safe mercury amalgam removal, ensuring a safe and comforting environment for her patients.

Dr. Baird has participated in several medical and dental missions trips to Nicaragua, Ghana, Vietnam, and Cambodia. She formerly served as the primary dentist for both staff and patients at Water Street Mission. During her time there, she has extensively gained knowledge in the connection between life trauma and oral health. She has experience in treating human trafficking survivors and was privileged to support the restorative mission of North Star Initiative while at Water Street Mission. Prayer became a foundation element in forming her niche in providing whole person clinical care during early years of her career.

Dr. Baird's treatment philosophy is to encourage patients to understand how God's original design integrates their oral health into their overall health. Starting with foundational nutritional and microbiome principles, Dr. Baird's desire is to help her patients steward their oral and systemic health connection with practical wisdom. She is also particularly passionate about helping babies' develop proper airways through breastfeeding by offering lip and tongue frenectomies because of her own experience with her children. Dr. Baird works with a network of compassionate airway focused professionals to assist her patients in receiving optimal care.

She and her husband are grateful to call Lancaster County home and are active members of Wheatland Presbyterian Church. Together with their children, they feel blessed to serve and care for families in the community.
